Found this beautiful red Lambo on my lunch break today!

Pretty sure that’s a Volvo, dude.
It really is a shame Saab went under - you’d figure they’d be able to attract some sort of buyer (apart from Spyker). I’m surprised a Chinese company didn’t snatch them up like Geely did with Volvo.

You have a phaeton right?

I wonder if the owner is stodgy, German and out of ideas.

The 9-5 was so pretty. 9-5 Wagon would have been too.
Super unicorn? Sportcombi. oh what might have been.

Owner was a professional-looking, middle-aged blonde lady buying craft supplies.

The styling on that car is so perfect. It looks like it could have just been on the NY Auto Show floor last week.

Yep.

Shoes? Also, how is it?

The first thing people learn about me is that I think shoes are the devil. The second thing they learn is that I love my Phaeton. ;)
It’s an absolute delight, like an understated Flying Spur for a fraction of the price. And I can afford to drive it because it’s not my daily. I take it out of the garage a couple of times a week.

Pretty sure that's a Bugatti bro

Oh nice, I would love to have one. I have a Nissan Rouge as my daily and a z4 and x3 for nice days and weekends.

Would that change if you had to daily it?

I suppose it’s easy to give up shoes when you have to maintain a Phaeton.
When searching for Phaeton maintenance I actually found an Oppo review you did a couple of years back. It sounds like an amazing car. How’s the maintenance cost been since then? I keep imagining a very finicky car with lots of electronics and so much to go wrong.
At any rate, I’m envious. I like the idea of going for a luxurious cruise as opposed to a highly-illegal, “Initial D”-like downhill race. I love understated, hidden luxury and performance (because W12).

I saw one last week in this sort of metallic royal blue... Man it was the best looking thing on I-5 that day.

This blue? My car btw

In the past couple of years, it’s cost me practically nothing (knock on wood). Just the cost of oil changes! For a day there, I thought that the motor for the passenger-side sliding vent cover had burned out, but it was apparently just taking a rest. By the next morning, it was working again.

Probably. It lives a charmed life. I only put about 7 or 8 thousand miles on it each year, I drive it gently, and I never miss a service.

No it was more like this

Yeah that’s the same color as mine. My potato doesn’t show the color well.

What is your daily?

My ‘99 Mitsubishi Galant, which I’ve had since 2000.

Interesting, I always thought the Phaeton was your only car.

Nah, here’s a rare shot of the two of them together.

Hey, Jagvar, could I be an oppo author? I am mainly gonna post car quizzes and carspotting videos. I am 22 and from Leawood, KS.

I just saw a Phaeton Tuesday! Looks so cool. See them all the time in Leawood.
